Bedelia would readily agree with the assumption that doing better than Fiona would not be difficult. In fact, she has had that conversation with the older Supreme. Let it never be said that Bedelia cannot be inconsiderate. They should be wary of their thoughts, she commented with a hint of a smile. If they are directed toward me, I will hear them, regardless of whether they want it or not. A fortunate side-effect of her manner of communication and one she did not choose to ignore (as it often helped find out what the younger girls were planning). Most of my girls share rooms, with one exception. She keeps primarily to herself and should not be disturbed. A pause. Most of the older witches left for their own purposes, but those who remain have similar authority to my own. Not many stayed, and some were only infrequent visitors. Outside of that - I will not infringe on your teaching. You know your girls better than I do, and I would not want to stunt their growth.
If the supreme was able to hear their thoughts, she would be able to hear Cordelia’s as well — and only imagining this made her uncomfortable. Sharing her home with one telepathic witch was already enough but soon she would have to be twice as careful with her thoughts. Even if she did not have inappropiate thoughts, she didn’t want anyone to slip inside her head like that. “One of my girls, Nan, has the same ability,” she explained, “We should be used to this.” A small smile appeared on her face, trying to cover those little insecurities of hers. “And I wouldn’t mind having to share a room but… I-I don’t need any help if you worry about that.” One of her dainty hands moved slightly, digits pointing up at her scarred face and what was left of her hazel eyes. No matter what, she would try to be as independent as possible, as she didn’t want to be a burden to anyone ever. “Plus, I will support you whenever I can, Madame, that’s a promise. If you don’t want any payback for your help, I will at least do that for you. Even if my only job will be taking care of your plants — I would love that.”
